Goats on the Roof, Fontburn, Northumberland

Goats on the roof is quite a long drive for us to get to as it’s pretty much in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by stunning scenery – including the Fontburn reservoir. We’ve been twice now and will certainly be going back. Goats on the roof actually does have goats on the roof. They get up and down by a ladder on the side of the building. It’s in the Meldon Park estate, which has been in the hands of the Cookson family since 1832 and is particularly beautiful with wonderful views, a walled kitchen garden, walks and a shop selling local produce
